Expand your print horizons: Brother Direct to Garment printers.

At AS Colour the search for constant innovation is a big motivator in everything that we do.  Whether it be new fabrics, fashion trends or a even just a new way to print a t-shirt, if it’s radical and fresh we want to be involved.  The rise of new digital printing technology is something that we have been watching for some time, which is why AS Colour are now the New Zealand agents for the Brother direct to garment printers, including the GT-541 and the GT-782 models.

The Brother garment printers allow you to print garments directly from your PC or from a Compact Flash card. There is no time-consuming preparation as with traditional screenprinting and the set up costs are virtually non-existent.  It’s as simple to use as a regular desktop printer and the quality of the printing is comparable to screenprinting, on high resolution photo prints the quality is even superior to what you can achieve through screenprinting techniques.  Brother have developed new water-based printing inks especially for these machines which are extremely long-lasting and colourfast plus you can print on any fabric that has at least 50% cotton including poly/cotton blends.  Brother are a very respected company with a long history in apparel innovation so they have designed new print heads specifically for printing on fabrics, which means the traditional quality issues with digital print heads have been erased

Currently the GT-541 will print on all light t-shirt colours that don’t require a white under layer, there are at least 50 t-shirt colours in the AS Colour range that you could use.  The brand new GT-782 printer is now available for the first time in NZ, this model is equipped to print with white ink so you can now print on Black shirts with ease.  We also carry stock of ink cartridges and the full range of other accessories including all the various sized Platens and cleaning kits for both machines.
